Volcano Cake Posted by Hello

Two 16 inch round layers create the base for the hand-scuplted cake volcano. The base is decorated with edible sand and buttercream "water". The volcano is made of red velvet cake covered in rolled fondant. The top of the volcano was hollowed out and a small wooden torch was inserted. Blowing out the burning volcano was much more interesting than using a traditional birthday candle.

Wiggles Music Cake Posted by Hello

This 12 inch, 2-layer cake is based on The Wiggles party accessories. The music note is a separate 2 inch cake on top of the base cake. A second small cake was made just for the birthday girl, so she could blow out her candles.

Golf Cake Posted by Hello

This cake is a two-layer half sheet cake, iced in white buttercream, then decorated with tip 233 grass and edible "sand". The golf ball is a full sphere of white cake covered in thinned white buttercream, then dimpled with gumpaste tools.

Fisher Price Little People Cake Posted by Hello

This is my daughter's birthday cake. She wanted a FP Little People party this year. The grass is made using tip 233. The house is a separate cake covered in buttercream with fondant siding and roofing that I made in advance. The tree, shrubs, door/windows, and butterfly pinata(just like at her party), and table are all cookies covered in glace' icing. The mini cake on the picnic table is a round of cake covered in fondant and real candle thins. The gifts are cookies covered in glace' icing. The Little People are obviouly not edible, and were "borrowed" from a few of her new playsets. The option of cookies or cake was a hit with both children and adults.

Snowman Posted by Hello

This stand-up snowman was one of my first attempts at cake decorating. It was baked in a double-mold, then stood upright and decorated with star piping.

Babycake Posted by Hello

This cake was made for a baby shower. It has two ten-inch rounds covered in fondant, and hand-rolled fondant feet.

Baby Bottle Posted by Hello

This cake was made with side-stacked 10 inch rounds, covered in rolled fondant. Each part of the bottle was a different cake flavor.

Yoda Posted by Hello

This cake was made by request for a Star Wars fan. Yoda was iced, then covered in a rolled-fondant cloak. His lightsabre was a last-minute idea by my husband: a freezer pop!

Nemo Posted by Hello

My daughter requested this cake for her birthday. At the time, there wasn't a sculpted Nemo pan available commercially, so I drew the design and transferred it to a rectagular cake, then piped the icing accordimg to my pattern.

Spiderweb Cookie Posted by Hello

This was my favorite cookie last Halloween. Each cookie was 6.5 inches in diameter.

My niece turned 2 last year. That's her party invitation in the picture. I used that as the design for the cake.

Wedding Richthammer Posted by Hello

This was my first wedding cake. My friend Stefanie trusted me enough to make it for her. It was carrot cake and white cake, covered in rolled fondant and decorated with edible pearls. It traveled 3 hours by car and still looked great at the reception in Ithaca!

Scream Posted by Hello

This cake was a for a child's birthday (he shares it with Halloween). My father gave me the idea of injecting the cake with red gel so it would ooze when sliced. Yuk.

Spongebob Posted by Hello

This cake was ordered for a child's birthday party. Spongebob is covered in tip 16 stars.

Pink Round Posted by Hello

This basic cake was for my daughter's christening party. I tinted the layers to add color when sliced.

Football Posted by Hello

My husband's birthday cake. His calendar year revolves around football.

Beige Round Posted by Hello

This was an early cake of mine, made for a friend's bridal shower party.

Shark Posted by Hello

My son wanted a shark-themed birthday. The shark's head is cut out and raised 2 inches above the cake board, so it appeared as if it were "jumping" up from the water. I iced the cake with blue icing, then piped tinted gel on the peaks to make it appear wet.

Gift Cake Posted by Hello

This is a version of the 3 tiered gift cake.

Flower Posted by Hello

My niece turned 1. This cake design is taken from her party invitation.

Butterfly Posted by Hello

Part II of my niece's birthday. This design was also taken from her invitation.

Easter Lamb Posted by Hello

Growing up, we had an Easter lamb cake every year. This was my take on that tradition.

Doll Cake Posted by Hello

This doll cake was for a little girl's birthday. She was fondant-covered then decorated with icing. Even her jewelry was iced!
